And the beach is truly beautiful and inviting. The work began in October and has passed the required inspections. Although construction took just 2 months, the project was literally years in the planning and required the patience and cooperative energies of Westmorland County, the GHCP Association Board of Directors, the Virginia Maritime Resources Commission, the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, the Virginia Water Control Board, and uncounted hours by community volunteers.
