Glebe Harbor Civic Association – September News

AIRBnB’s and VRBO’s:  Amendment to the Westmoreland County Code, Chapter 46; Taxation update:  On June 14, 2021 the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors voted to impose a Transient Occupancy Tax on short-term lodging rentals within the unincorporated areas of the county.  This tax would apply to properties that are located in the unincorporated  County such as Glebe Harbor and Cabin Point.  It includes spaces, rooms, or homes rented for fewer than thirty (30) consecutive days for lodging and includes hotels, motels, bed & breakfasts, travel campgrounds, and vacation homes.  This Tax would not be implemented until July 1, 2022.  You can read more about this by going to the Westmoreland County Virginia Board of Supervisors Meeting of June 14, 2021.

Hopefully you have noticed by now that the house on the corner of Glebe Harbor Dr. and Merganser, that is almost overgrown with shrubs, has been mowed.  Our mowing agent, Joel Wilson, worked with Westmoreland County Sheriff’s department to ensure a safe and uneventful mowing.  Thank you Joel.

Fall is upon us and as cooler weather arrives I want to remind residents and guests that no open fires are permitted on the beaches within the Sanitary District (SD) at any time.  To find this rule [IX. Specific Facility Rules; E. Beaches, #2. (page 10)] and other rules regarding the Sanitary District (SD) go to the GH-CP Association website: www.gh-cp.org ; go to “Sanitary District” and select “Sanitary District Rules”.  This document has a wealth of information for anyone looking for information on the Sanitary District. The Association tries hard to keep you informed – please use it.
