Highlights from the June 8, 2020 Board of Directors Meeting

Despite the challenges of the novel corona virus, your Board has been busy trying to maintain the facilities. Some new projects have been approved and are about to get underway. Here’s a peek at what’s happening.

Clubhouse:  Funding for the sewer connection was approved by the County Administrator.  A Purchase Order has been issued but the exact start date is still to be determined.  The clubhouse, pool, and bathrooms will become connected to the county sewer system.

Paving Projects:  Funding was also approved for surfacing Boat Ramp Road and patching both boat ramps. A Purchase Order has been issued but the start date is to be determined.  Partial paving of the Clubhouse driveway is also coming but will be deferred until after completion of the sewer connection.

Picnic Pavilion: The picnic pavilion has been power washed and is ready for stain.

Channel Markers:  Markers have been installed inside Cabin Point Creek Inlet Channel. No wake signage has been updated with orange tape per instructions from DGIF (Dept. of Game and Inland Fisheries).

Cabin Point Beach:  Groins #1, #2, and #3 have been completed and it appears that sand may already be accreting on the north side of groin #1.

Pool:  Many thanks are owed to Bill and Dot Spencer and Bob and Debbie Dunn for devising and leading the implementation of a plan to get the pool open during Phase 2 of the Governor’s orders.  More information will be posted on the gh-cp.org web site and more frequently on the GHCP Pool Facebook Page.
