GHCP Association Annual Meeting Saturday, June 8

The GHCP Association Annual Meeting will be held at the Clubhouse on Saturday, June 8 at 9:30. The two primary agenda items are to update members on Sanitary District operations and the election of three board members for the GH-CP Association. Members who cannot attend are encouraged to submit a proxy. Proxies can be downloaded HERE. All proxies must be received by the Association Office no later than Friday, May 31, 2019 and are subject to validation. Proxies may be submitted in person, by mail, or by email to GHCPAssoc@gmail.com.

The Sanitary District update will cover SD operations, the results of member survey, facilities and rules updates, update & discussion of the evolving draft 5-year Capital Improvement Plan, and an update on Sanitary District finances.

The election of three GH-CP Association Directors. The Nominations Committee slate of candidates will be recommended to the membership at the meeting. Biographies of the nominees will be posted on the gh-cp.org web site by June 1st. Nominations may also be made from the floor.

The terms of three Directors are expiring. Debbie Dunn, has served as the membership director and done yeoman’s work on the development and maintenance of the member database and supporting member communications. She is stepping down from the board but will continue to assist with the membership data base

Two incumbents, Fred Selby and Harriet Dixon are standing for re-election. Fred has served as the treasurer and been responsible for the preparation of annual budgets for the SD and for the Association as well as day-to-day management of the financial accounting and reporting and works closely with the County’s finance staff. Harriet has served as a member at large and community liaison.

The Nominating Committee has recommended Fred and Harriet for reelection and has recommended Mardie Amery for election to the remaining vacancy. Mardie and her husband Jim have owned properties in GHCP since 2004. They have had a home in Glebe Harbor, spent many years as weekenders, and in the last year have retired, bought and renovated a home in Cabin Point. In her words, “Being part-timers meant we missed participating in a lot of neighborhood activities and events, but we hope to make up for missing so much now that we are here full time.”

The agenda will also include updates on the beaches and waterways, from the Friends of the Pool, Neighborhood Watch, and an update on Association finances. The Sheriff’s Office has been invited to attend and share what they can about recent incidents involving the discharge of weapons in the community, and talk about proactive things we can do to stay safe.
