On March 19th, First Sergeant Antwan Smith of the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office met with the community Neighborhood Watch volunteers. He announced that things had been very peaceful for the last several months in the community. First Sergeant Smith announced a potential training session for the volunteers in the future. Dave Milne, is now the coordinator of the Neighborhood Watch, recently taking over from Dave White. We thank both Daves for their leadership. Milne also announced that all the Watch slots are full with a few volunteers offering to substitute or fill future vacant slots.
Also on the 19th, First Sergeant Smith joined the regularly scheduled Potluck for a special presentation. Dorothy (Dot) Spencer presented the Sheriff’s Department with 28 blankets and quilts lovingly made by community volunteers. These items are used by the Sheriff’s Department to comfort families in need.
