Member Services – Social Activities: March 1, 2022

Spring is just 20 days away and I know everyone is ready for it!

I have received a fair number of inquiries as to when we can start using the Clubhouse again for activities.  Hopefully within the next few of weeks the suspension will be lifted, and we can once again enjoy our socials at the Clubhouse.  It is still recommended that everyone follow CDC and Commonwealth guidelines to mask in public, indoor areas, although masking is optional for vaccinated and boosted members while in the Clubhouse.

Teresa Edwards’ first “Paint and Sip” oil painting class on Thursday, February 10 was a big success.  The next one is scheduled for Thursday, March 10 from 2:00-5:00 p.m.    RSVPs are required as the class size is limited to 10 people. $35 per person; all supplies furnished. (Contact Teresa at 804-214-1961)

Please remember to get in touch with Ronnie Voss (ronnielvoss@yahoo.com) if you are interested in participating in the arts and crafters group.

Please consider hosting an event — the Children’s Easter Egg Hunt, Kentucky Derby, or any other activity that you would like. [Contact me if interested at  amurf1950@gmail.com ]

Dot Spencer has agreed to host a Cinco de Mayo event.  Details later.

A New Member Orientation event will be held again this year.  Please mark your calendar for Saturday, May 21, 2022.   Last year, this event was well attended and if you were not able to attend, please consider it this year.  Again, we will have “stations” with representatives from the civic associations, communications, access cards and boat decals & parking, the waterways, and social activities to answer any questions you might have.

Thanks to all of you who unselfishly volunteer (and participate) to help keep our social activities going.  The camaraderie is wonderful, and I appreciate everything you do.
