Incident at the GH-CP Pool

On Wednesday, June 30, at the end of morning water exercises, one of our members standing in shallow water suffered a medical emergency and collapsed. Other participants came to her aid, got her out of the water, called 911, and began CPR. Neighborhood medical professionals and EMTs arrived within 14 minutes, and in consultation with 911, employed the clubhouse defibrillator, and continued CPR until Westmoreland emergency rescue personnel arrived.  We are grateful for the quick reaction of class participants and the response of neighborhood EMT’s and rescue squad personnel who attended her.  Thank you to everyone who contributed to saving her life.
