Dredging at Cabin Point Creek is Underway

The Dredging Project at Cabin Point Creek Inlet Channel is now underway.  The contractor for the project, Docks of the Bay, is now marking the areas to be dredged, and expects to begin mobilization of equipment to the inlet channel later this week. Once the marking is complete and the equipment is on-site, the actual dredging work will begin.
While construction is underway, the inlet channel will remain open and vessels will be able to move through the channel.  We ask that you exercise caution and care when passing the dredging equipment, barges, and other vessels in the inlet channel during this time.  The equipment will be tied up in an area just outside the inlet channel overnight and a small skiff will be tied up overnight at the Cabin Point Boat Ramp during this time.  We appreciate your cooperation as this maintenance dredging project gets underway.   Thank you!
