Highlights from the April 2020 Board of Directors Meeting
Getting Ready to Open – We do not know when the stay-at-home restrictions will be relaxed enough to open the pool and clubhouse; however, we are proceeding with the maintenance and prepping activities required to have the pool ready to open and the pavilion ready for use whenever State and Federal guidelines permit. Stay tuned!
Thank you! – The Board wishes to thank the following people for their efforts to help us maintain our amenities. Special thanks to Harold Leifer for donating scaffolding; Tom Long for filling in holes in the parking lot; Jim Amery for continuing to work on landscaping for the clubhouse and for maintaining the tennis courts; Bob Harris for replacing roof shingles.
Annual Meeting – Due to Covid-19, the Annual Meeting and Election of Officers originally scheduled for June will need to be postponed to a future date when stay-at-home orders are relaxed. Watch for announcements about the re-scheduled meeting sometime this summer.
New Proxies – The Board is working on providing a proxy for meetings that would be valid for 11 months. Watch for the new proxy in conjunction with announcements about the Annual Meeting.
Beaches:
Cabin Point Beach Groin Repair – The County has hired Brandon Basar Construction to undertake the most critical groin repairs along Cabin Point Beach. The start date is not yet set.
Cabin Point Creek Inlet Channel – A request for permit extension has been submitted to VMRC to permit maintenance dredging of the inlet channel at Cabin Point Creek. There is no estimate yet on the cost of dredging nor when this project will begin.
Crystal Lane Beach: The contract work and VDOT culvert repairs to Crystal Lane Beach are complete. We are monitoring drainage flow to determine that repairs are performing as expected.
