Water Waze Director Debbie Dever reports there is a large quantity of dead fish on Cabin Point Beach. All of the fish are catfish which is very unusual. Please be advised this has been reported to Virginia Emergency Operations Center and a representative from DEQ (Virginia Department of Environmental Quality) has now been assigned. Debbie is currently working with DEQ to monitor the situation and try to determine the reason for the fish kill and or source. There is no need to contact anyone from the county or state.
