Use of the Clubhouse

Clubhouse “Open Use” or “Private” Events

Did you know, that as a Glebe Harbor-Cabin Point Association (GH-CP) property owner, guest, and lessee (“Member”) you can EITHER:

1) reserve and host a GH-CP “Open Use” community-attended activity, group, or event OR 2) reserve, rent, and host a private event at the clubhouse facilities?

To Reserve and Host a GH-CP “Open Use” Community-Attended Activity, Group, or Event

  • Contact the GH-CP Activities Coordinator, Dawn Wharton at (240) 753-2920.
  • Describe the “open use” community-attended activity, group, or event to Activity Coordinator for guidance on the facilities, resources, policies and procedures for reserving the clubhouse facilities.
    • The Activities Coordinator will provide input to Members on how to create fun activities, groups or events; however, the Activities Coordinator is NOT responsible for creating activities, groups, or events suggested by Members. The Member takes the active role of creating, organizing, publicizing, setting up, and cleaning up.
  • Contact the GH-CP Office at (804) 472-3646 to reserve date(s) and time(s).
  • Create a flyer (save as a .jpg) or a write-up and email to Activities Coordinator at dcwharton61@gmail.com for approval. Then, post approved flyer or write-up on the Glebe Harbor & Cabin Point Owners/Residents Group Facebook page and email approved flyer or write-up to the Office at “ghcpassoc@gmail.com” for inclusion in 1) the weekly “Happenings” e-mail, 2) the GH-CP website calendar and news, and 3) on the GH-CP Facebook page.
  • On the day of GH-CP “open use” community-attended activity, group, or event:
    • Set up
    • If alcohol will be served or consumed during the activity, group or event, the Member must comply with ABC rules and identify an ABC Manager who will be present for the entire event, and
    • Clean up according to the “post-event clean-up checklist” posted on the refrigerator in the kitchen.  See below.
  • The self-sustaining model for repeating events, such as our book clubs, happy hour, and the authors, artists, and artisans’ series — where hosting responsibilities are shared/rotated among Members — is the vision for how repeating GH-CP “Open Use” community-attended activity, group, or events should be supported.
    • The current list of existing GH-CP activities, groups, and events is available on the GH-CP website.

To Reserve, Rent, and Host a Private Event
