Highlights of the January 13, 2020 GHCP Association Board Meeting:

Community Forum – Two members attended. No specific concerns were brought to the Board’s attention.

Treasurer’s Report – 93.8% of the Recreational User Fees due in December have been paid.  This figure is holding consistently year to year. Payment of the RUF assures that the Sanitary District has adequate fnuding to meet basic operational expensess for the 2019-2020 fiscal year.

Nominating Committee – Every year at the Annual Meeting, the Association elects three members to serve on the GHCP Association Board of Directors. A Nominating Committee recruits and solicits interest from members to serve on the board, and recommends a slate of candidates to the membership. Members may also be nominated from the floor at the meeting. Fred Selby will chair the Nominating Committee this year, and Harriet Dixon will serve as a second Board member.  Three additional members from the community will be added to this committee.  This year’s Annual Meeting will be on June 13, 2020, at the clubhouse.

Engineering Study for Cabin Point Beach – In late December, the County published a Request for Proposal (RFP) to secure engineering services to advise the Sanitary District on options to address erosion control and beach replenishment issues along Cabin Point Beach.  The RFP closes January 23, 2020.  Firms responding to the RFP are expected to provide estimated costs for the engineering study.  Jeanne Axtell and Fred Selby will be reviewing the budget with the County Administrator to determine available funding for this critical engineering study.

Management Agreement Self-Assessment Performance Review – The final report and recommendations were presented to the Board and approved.  Jeanne Axtell will assemble the briefing package to present the report and recommendations to the County Administrator.

Re-establishment of Committees – The Board voted to re-establish a Waterways & Shoreline Committee and a Facilities Committee to assist the Board with planning and executing responsibilities in those areas. Charters will be developed for both committees.

SD Budget Proposal for FY2020-2021– Fred Selby reported the SD budget proposal for FY 2020-21 has been prepared in accordance with instructions from the County and will be submitted by February 7th. No change in the RUF is recommended. Fred also reported that the Sanitary District made the final payment of $32,000 to the County to repay the no-interest, 3-year advance.
