On Sunday, September 14th, we will kick off the first meeting of the Authors, Artists, Artisans, Adventurers and Athletes Series (better known as 5A). Co-hosts Dot Spencer and George Payne are pleased to host our first guest, former resident Milton Ford Wright, author of “Least Likely to Succeed.” Milton grew up in Glebe Harbor before it was Glebe Harbor. He graduated from A.T. Johnson High School in the early 60’s, where he was given the moniker “Least Likely to Succeed” – but he has proven just the opposite! In his book, he describes his early years on the Neck and later making his way as a black man as the Civil Rights Era was just beginning to unfold. Come join us and hear of Milton’s youth here on the Northern Neck, and what prompted him to write his book. Refreshments will be served.
