Neighborhood Watch Report – March 2026

The Neighborhood Watch team has motored through another mostly uneventful month in our communities.  The exception: as was discussed recently on a Facebook group, a resident reported persons dressed in black and wearing masks ringing doorbells and running away.  While it may have just been kids “ding-dong-ditching”, the Sheriff’s department has been notified and will be doing extra patrols in the Weatherall/Currioman/Parrish Loop areas of Glebe Harbor over the next few nights, with extra attention on weekends and during Spring Break.  Thank you to the neighbors who reported this activity to one of our volunteers.

With spring fever now gripping the gardeners and outdoorsy-types, more residents may spot the slow-moving vehicles with the sporty yellow light flashing atop the roof.  Please don’t think it’s someone being nosy, we’re just snooping around proactively!

The NW Second Quarter volunteer schedule (newly revised) is now posted in the clubhouse for perusal, and I would be happy to answer any questions/concerns.  Also, we welcome new watchers Jeff and Shelly Preston to the team.

Mark your calendars for Monday April 6, 2026 at 7:00pm. Officer Felts of the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office will be meeting with us in the clubhouse to discuss the Neighborhood Watch program and its interaction with county law enforcement. All current Neighborhood Watch volunteers are encouraged to attend, as well as other members of the community who may be interested. With the warm weather season (almost?) upon us, we will see the annual influx of residents and guests present in our neighborhoods, with added activity leading to possible concerns.

The Sheriff’s Department liaisons with Neighborhood Watch groups across the county, and Officer Felts will provide guidance and answer questions about how to report unusual activity and communicate with his office.

Please contact Don Hess with any questions.
