The Community Tapestry Speaker Series (formerly known as 5A) kicked off its 2026 season on January 4 with Mr. Tom Seay who, with his wife Pat, created and produced a cable TV show called Best of America by Horseback. In this presentation, Tom shared his stories of an epic adventure in which he guided a group of riders on a five-month trek from Mexico to Canada. Tom’s photos and colorful storytelling, with a generous mix of humor and heart, kept listeners enthralled. The overarching theme: you’re never too old to follow your dreams.

Having nearly survived January’s wrath, we can start looking ahead to February’s social events. The coming month’s speaker slot proved challenging to fill, so Lisa will present some of her artwork. She will primarily discuss her approach to painting wall murals, which is something she has done for years: as volunteer work, for trade, as a business, and to decorate her own homes.
