The last episode of the 5A Series (Authors, Artists, Artisans, Adventurers, and Athletes) met on May 18th with guest Bill Spencer. Bill held our attention by sharing his interest in making ‘found’ pieces of wood into useful items.  Using wood salvaged from our beaches and creeks, he has made coffee tables, shelves, candleholders, and lamps. The mantel in the lounge had its origins on Cabin Point Beach, while the 11 benches on Cabin Point Beach were made by resident volunteers from wood he ‘found’. We all enjoyed hearing about the process for processing a piece of wood into its final form.
