It’s almost pool time!
It’s that time of year again and getting the pool ready for opening day is probably our biggest single project every year. It typically takes around 300 hours of volunteer effort to get the pool ready. This year, the opening day is May 24th, the Saturday before Memorial Day.
Steve Merritt will be taking the lead organizing and working on the pool this year. He introduced some new procedures over the winter that should prevent us from having to drain the pool and deal with the mucky swamp that in the past has accumulated in the deep end. But there are the usual cleanup tasks for the decks and furniture, repairs and repainting, and making up new swim line ropes.
We have scheduled working sessions from 9 to noon on Tuesdays and Saturdays starting on Tuesday, April 22 and continuing as needed and weather permits until we open. We will have a range of tasks that are suitable at any level of interest and skill, and we can schedule other opportunities for folks to take on jobs at other times according to their availability, skills, and interests. Please join us as you can.
Thanks,
Steve Merritt
