This month we are recognizing two long-time volunteers who have several things in common. First, they are both consistent volunteers named “Dave.” Second, and more importantly, for several years they have recognized opportunities to make improvements to our community assets and taken the lead to get them done. And also worthy of note, both have experience coordinating and scheduling our Neighborhood Watch volunteers.
In addition to helping get the pool open every year, Dave White’s contributions have included doing most of the painting and working with Tommy Long on the renovation of the game room a few years ago. More recently he took the lead painting the clubhouse lounge, the furniture, and all the recycled cabinets that now serve as our buffet table, dessert table, and the new bar. Dave also coordinated the Neighborhood Watch until a few months ago, which brings us to….
Dave Milne who is now coordinating the Neighborhood Watch. And for several years he has taken charge of maintaining the Association trailer parking areas at the clubhouse. He’s the guy who maintains the space markers and keeps the boundaries of the spaces visible with paint and/or weed killer. He and Tracy Milne blazed the trail from Huntsman to Beaver Pond Beach a couple of years ago, but just this month he has improved the path and repaired the bridges so that it is now accessible by bicycle.
So, with our sincere appreciation, the “Daves” White and Milne have certainly earned and are hereby awarded the GH-CP Tip of the Hat award for their contributions to keep Glebe Harbor-Cabin Point a “Great Place to Live.” Thank you, Daves!
