GHCPA BoD Hosts Westmoreland County Administrator

On January 27th the GHCPA Board of Directors hosted Jim Taylor, our new County Administrator, for a driving tour of the community and a Power Point Briefing at the Clubhouse.

Jim has served in local government for the past 24 years, most recently as one of three Deputy County Administrators in Hanover County, Virginia.  He has a bachelor’s degree in government from the College of William and Mary and a master’s degree in public administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.

The discussions with Jim included a review of the history of the Glebe Harbor-Cabin Point Sanitary District; the relationship framework between the County and the GH-CP Association; our financial situation; a snapshot of the community; the growth and challenges for the community; and a review of the focus of the Board.  These challenges include identifying funding sources for the maintenance of non-VDOT roads; community relations between the Association and the local builders and realtors; and seeking to reduce the speed limit on all the roads in the community to 25 miles per hour.
