General Membership Meeting December 7

A reminder to all that the next General Membership meeting of the GHCPA will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 9:30 am in the clubhouse.  The purpose of the meeting is to update the general membership on current business of the GHCP Association, address the results of the recent membership survey, and ratify the appointments of Rebecca Skinner and Mike Berry to the Board.
The recent Membership Survey has prompted the Board to prioritize three key objectives: maintenance and improvements of non-state roads, fostering cooperation with builders and realtors in the community, and lowering speed limits. The upcoming meeting in December will focus specifically on non-state roads (those not included in the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) system).
The Association is not legally obligated to maintain or upgrade these roadways, nor does it have the necessary funds to do so. To address this issue, the Board is proposing the introduction of a separate, county-supported annual user fee for property owners on these roads. This fee would provide funding for maintenance in the short term, with the long-term goal of funding the costs of including these roads in the state system. The Road and Grounds Committee will present a detailed analysis of our road system along with this proposal at the meeting. In the meantime, for further information, please search “roads” on the GH-CP website (gh-cp.org) or just click on the special Roads tab in the the top bars of the website  to see the work that has already been completed.

Note: If you cannot attend the meeting in person, the deadline for submitting your proxy is Friday, November 29th.  Here is the proxy form.
