Soliciting a new Board Member

Due to a vacancy on the Association Board, we are now soliciting qualified candidates who are property owners in GH-CP, either full or part-time residents. This is a great opportunity to bring new experience, insight, and leadership to help guide the continued success of our communities.

The position to be filled is a Director at Large. The position responsibilities are determined by the skill set of the new board member as well as the needs of the Board and community.  They may not be the same responsibilities of the former Board member.

The appointee to an unexpired term of a Board member completes that term and then has the option of standing for election for a full 3-year term.  In this case, the individual appointed will serve from time of appointment until June 2026.  The appointment by the Board is ratified by the general membership at the next regularly scheduled meeting (December 7, 2024).

Process of Appointment:

  • Interested candidates notify the Association at ghcpassoc@gmail.com
  • A Board member will contact the candidate, answer questions and send them a brief questionnaire.
  • The candidate will then be interviewed by at least two individuals, one of whom must be a Board member.
  • The slate of candidates for appointment is presented to the Board for their selection.

Brief Summary of Duties:

  • Voluntary position to complete an unexpired term until June 2026
  • Attendance at monthly board meetings either in person or via video conferencing.
  • Preparation for monthly board meetings by reviewing materials sent out in advance.
  • Willingness to assist other board members or officers on an as-needed basis.

 Desirable Board Member traits/characteristics:

  • Genuine focus on the best interests of the entire GH-CP community.
  • Has management experience and/or technical skills/experience helpful to the Board.
  • Willing and able to invest time, energy and take on some responsibility.
  • Ability to communicate with others, listen to differing views, and respond in a constructive way.
