Can We Re-introduce an Air of Civility into Our Discourse and Actions?

And now a word from Fred Selby, our GH-CP President:

Perhaps it is the fault of the recent hot weather, but there have been several incidents in the community that seem out of character and are not examples of the mature behavior that we strive for.  These incidents include the following:

  • Folks screaming obscenities on the pool deck
  • Very inappropriate political signs
  • Lot owners not following the covenants by keeping their lawns below 8 inches in height
  • Fishermen and Fisherwomen fishing from the ramp at the Cabin Point Beach and blocking others’ access to the beach
  • A trailer parked at the trailer parking area being used without permission by another party to move a much too large boat.
  • Stealing hot dogs purchased for the pool cookout from the Clubhouse freezer

We often refer to our community as “A Great Place to Live,” but actions like these contribute to a deterioration of that sentiment as well as the general quality of life here.  We can do better!  Time to remember the Golden Rule:  Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
